Manchester United have completed the signing of Wales under-21 goalkeeper Kit Margetson from Swansea City. The young stopper departed Swansea earlier this month upon the expiry of his contract, though the Championship club will receive a compensation fee. Margetson was nurtured by Swansea since under-15 level under the guidance of his father Martyn, who until recently served as the club's head of goalkeeping.
Margetson spent last season on loan at Connah's Quay Nomads, making 34 appearances and keeping 10 clean sheets. He also made his debut for Wales under-21s against Belarus in March.

The club, who are yet to disclose the duration of his contract, said in a statement: "Everyone at United would like to welcome Kit to the club and wish him the very best of luck for the future."
Goalkeeping overhaul at Old Trafford
Margetson's arrival is the latest in a string of changes to the goalkeeping setup at United. The club brought in Wales international Karl Darlow from Leeds on a free transfer to provide cover for Senne Lammens, who himself only joined last year. Former first-choice Andre Onana has been loaned back to Turkish outfit Trabzonspor, while Altay Bayindir and Radek Vitek are also expected to leave in the coming weeks.
Manager Michael Carrick has already approved their exits to free up room within the first-team squad. Bayindir has failed to establish himself over recent seasons and is looking for a permanent transfer, having not rejoined United after the World Cup. Vitek was loaned to Championship side Bristol City last term and made a strong impression. United are believed to value the 22-year-old at £10 million and have attracted considerable interest in securing his signature.
Vitek featured in United's 5-0 pre-season victory against Rosenborg at the weekend but will be permitted to depart, with Lammens and Darlow established as first and second-choice goalkeepers and his market value elevated following his successful spell at Bristol City.
