Manchester United have joined Liverpool and Chelsea in the race to sign West Ham captain Jarrod Bowen, as the club faces a potential relegation and a subsequent £100 million fire sale. The 29-year-old forward is expected to be available in the summer transfer window if the Hammers are relegated from the Premier League.
West Ham's Relegation Battle
West Ham currently sit two points from safety and will be relegated if Tottenham beat Everton on Sunday, regardless of their own result against Leeds United. Despite the team's struggles, Bowen has been a standout performer, scoring 10 goals and providing 11 assists this season as captain.
The Irons need to raise more than £100 million through player sales if they drop to the Championship, making Bowen one of the most sought-after assets. His contract runs until 2030, but the club will be under pressure to sell.
Interest from Top Clubs
Liverpool have long been tipped to sign Bowen as a replacement for Mohamed Salah, who is set to leave Anfield this summer. Chelsea have also emerged as potential suitors, looking to add competition on the right flank. Now, Manchester United have entered the fray, with reports suggesting they view Bowen's versatility as a major asset. The former Hull City star can play as a striker or right winger, having scored double figures in five of his six full seasons at West Ham.
United are keen to strengthen their attack ahead of their return to the Champions League, and Bowen fits the profile of a dynamic forward who can operate across the front line.
Bowen's Future Plans
In an interview with Sky Sports, Bowen confirmed he will not discuss his future until after the season ends. "I sit down at the end of every season and think, what's best for me? What do I feel? What's my gut feeling? And then make a decision and go with it," he said.
Despite speculation, Bowen remains focused on survival. "It's probably one of the biggest weeks in my career. So it would be wrong for me to start looking past into the next few weeks and start putting my energy elsewhere. I love this club. I have a lot of care for this club. So I want to put all my energy into this week," he added.
Bowen also dismissed false reports in the media, stating, "A lot of stuff gets printed. That's what happens in social media and in newspapers these days. A lot of false things get put out there. When there's time to speak and time to address different things, then it will come from me."
World Cup Aspirations
The forward will be hoping to receive a call-up to the England squad for the World Cup on Friday. His performances this season have kept him in contention, and a move to a top club could boost his chances of making the squad.
With three of England's biggest clubs vying for his signature, Bowen's future promises to be one of the most intriguing storylines of the summer transfer window.
