Manchester United super fan Frank Ilett is just one victory away from finally being able to cut his hair after more than 500 days. Ilett, known on social media as The United Strand, pledged last year to keep growing his hair until the Red Devils secured five consecutive wins.
Saturday's 2-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur, with goals from Bryan Mbeumo and Bruno Fernandes, marked United's fourth straight victory under caretaker manager Michael Carrick. The run also includes wins against Manchester City, Arsenal, and Fulham. A win against West Ham United in their next match would complete the challenge.
Ilett has promised to donate his hair to the Little Princess Trust, a charity that provides wigs for children with hair loss. He has expressed a desire to have the haircut at Old Trafford or nearby. The challenge has gained attention from United players, with a source confirming they are aware and supportive of his efforts.
Captain Bruno Fernandes emphasized the team's focus on extending the winning streak. 'When we win games the confidence goes higher and higher,' he said after the Tottenham match. 'The main focus is the next game. We need to make it five now.'
