Man Utd fan's new vow after Bournemouth defeat

A Manchester United fan who promised to post topless pictures every day until Michael Carrick is sacked has extended her protest to include the club's owners. Skylar Skye, who initially made the X-rated pledge after United's loss to Como 1907, has now vowed to continue until the Glazers and INEOS are removed from the club.

Her latest announcement came after United conceded three goals to Bournemouth on Sunday, a defeat that left the team 16th in the Premier League, just one point above the relegation zone. Sharing the update on X with a photo of herself lifting her United shirt to reveal a pink bra with black spots, Skylar wrote: "Getting my b*obs out until the Glazers and INEOS are removed from Manchester United."

Fan anger at owners and management

Skylar's protest reflects wider discontent among United supporters directed at the Glazer family, who bought the club in a leveraged buyout in 2005, and co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who became a minority owner in February 2024. The Glazers' ownership has been marked by more than £1 billion in debt repayments, interest, refinancing costs and dividends over 21 years, while Ratcliffe's tenure has seen on-pitch struggles, cost-cutting and ticket price increases.

Skylar, who has now posted photos for five consecutive days, has also offered a 90% discount on her adult page if Carrick is sacked before 4pm on Monday (October 26). She shared a screenshot of a Daily Star Sport article about her protest, commenting: "Some people make the national headlines for breaking world records, saving lives or curing diseases. Today I have joined this prestigious group of individuals after making the national news for promising to post pictures of my boobs every day until Michael Carrick gets sacked."

Players accept responsibility

Carrick is under increasing pressure following the latest defeat. Speaking after the game, he said: "It's a tough situation. What is next? I don't know. I'll always do what's best for this football club. I don't change that now. I love what I do. I love the responsibility. But we'll have to wait and see."

Stand-in captain Harry Maguire, deputising for Bruno Fernandes, defended Carrick and placed the blame on the players. "You have to look after your own performances and take responsibility. This is a huge club and every day you have to prove why you're wearing this badge. At the moment we're not doing enough as players. Michael turned our season on its head last year and we played brilliant football and got brilliant results. This season we haven't performed well enough as individuals."

Maguire added: "It's not clicking at the moment. Results are not good enough, and performances in the last week are not good enough. Still early in the season. We have got to find something, question yourself, look in the mirror - that's the most important thing - think what you can do more and what more you can contribute to the team and if we do that we'll get somewhere."
