Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has called on his players to stop 'fighting' with each other after Rasmus Hojlund's frustrated reaction towards Diogo Dalot during the 1-1 draw at Real Sociedad. The incident occurred in the 19th minute when Dalot chose to cut back to Alejandro Garnacho instead of crossing to Hojlund, who had an open shot at goal.
Hojlund, who has not scored in 19 games for United, remonstrated with his teammate after the missed opportunity. Amorim acknowledged Dalot's decision was 'not the best' but stressed the importance of unity. 'The important thing is to move on and not fighting,' he said. 'Let’s move on to the next game.'
The draw leaves United with work to do in the second leg at Old Trafford. Mikel Oyarzabal's 70th-minute penalty cancelled out Joshua Zirkzee's opener for the visitors. Amorim lamented his side's lack of ruthlessness in front of goal, which has contributed to their recent struggles in attack.
Despite the result, Amorim felt his team were in control until the penalty. 'It could be better but could be worse,' he said. 'We take the game to Old Trafford, and we will try to win there.' United now turn their attention to the upcoming Premier League clash against Crystal Palace, where another poor performance could increase the pressure on the squad.
