Manchester City recorded the biggest FA Cup win by a top-flight side in 66 years as they demolished League One Exeter City 10-1 at the Etihad. The victory was the largest in the competition since Tottenham's 13-2 win over Crewe in a fourth-round replay in 1960.
Pep Guardiola's side were 5-0 up at half-time, with goals from Antoine Semenyo, who made his debut after his £64m move from Bournemouth, along with strikes from youngsters Max Alleyne and Ryan McAidoo, and first-team stars Rodri and Tijjani Reijnders. Own goals from Exeter's Jake Doyle-Hayes and Jack Fitzwater added to the tally, while Nico O'Reilly and Rico Lewis also scored, with Lewis netting twice, including a stoppage-time strike after George Birch had pulled one back for the visitors.
Remarkably, Erling Haaland failed to get on the scoresheet despite starting and playing the entire first half. According to Opta, City became the first English top-flight team to score ten or more goals in a cup competition since Liverpool beat Fulham 10-0 in the League Cup in 1986.
