An attempted murder investigation has been launched following a shooting in the Gorton area of Manchester. Police were called to Hampden Crescent at around 5.45pm on Monday, October 7, after reports of a shooting.
A 19-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries, which are not believed to be life-threatening. Two other males, aged 15 and 21, have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remain in custody for questioning.
Forensic officers were seen examining the scene overnight and into Tuesday morning. The area remains cordoned off from Garratt Way to Calgary Street. Greater Manchester Police have stated that the incident is believed to be a targeted attack and there is no wider risk to the public.
Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information to come forward. Patrols have been increased in the area as the investigation continues.
