Liverpool XI vs Fenerbahce: Szoboszlai returns for UCL trip

Dominik Szoboszlai has been recalled to Liverpool's starting lineup for this evening's Champions League trip to Fenerbahce in Istanbul.

The Reds travel to Turkey for their eighth fixture in 24 days, with head coach Andoni Iraola opting to rotate his side for the league phase encounter at the Chobani Stadium.

Szoboszlai back in the No10 role

Szoboszlai returned to action as a second-half substitute in the 1-0 defeat by Arsenal at the weekend, having missed the previous three matches with a hamstring complaint. He now comes into the side in the No10 role.

Ryan Gravenberch has been ruled out with a heel injury and did not travel to Turkey. He was an unused substitute in the loss to the Premier League champions, when youngster Trey Nyoni was handed a start in central midfield at Anfield alongside Alexis Mac Allister.

Iraola keeps faith in Nyoni for a third consecutive Champions League match.

Changes in defence and attack

There are changes in the full-back positions. Kostas Tsimikas, who has started the last two games in Europe, comes in to give Milos Kerkez a breather. On the opposite side, Joe Gomez replaces Ronald Araujo.

Rio Ngumoha, who impressed in the comeback win over Villarreal in the previous Champions League outing, replaces Cody Gakpo in attack after the Dutchman's largely ineffective showing against Arsenal.

Alexander Isak is named on the bench, suggesting Bradley Barcola will lead the line as Victor Munoz operates out wide.
