Bayern Munich are reportedly exploring a move for Liverpool's teenage sensation Rio Ngumoha this summer. The Bundesliga champions are looking to strengthen their attack and have identified the 17-year-old as an ideal addition to the left flank.
Ngumoha enjoyed a breakthrough season at Anfield, making 29 appearances across all competitions and scoring two goals with one assist. His first senior goal came in stoppage time against Newcastle, showcasing composure beyond his years. The winger signed his first professional contract in September, tying him to Liverpool until 2028.
The Athletic reports that no formal contact has been made between the clubs, though Ngumoha is aware of Bayern's interest. Vincent Kompany is among those driving the pursuit. Liverpool have no intention of selling one of their brightest prospects and view him as a key part of their future.
The Reds' decision not to replace Luis Diaz—sold to Bayern last summer—was partly influenced by Ngumoha's emergence. New Liverpool boss Andoni Iraola is expected to build around the teenager as he looks to fill the void left by Mohamed Salah's departure.
Bayern already boast Harry Kane, Luis Diaz, and Michael Olise in their forward line, but see Ngumoha as a complementary talent. The German club have a history of pursuing English youngsters, having previously targeted Callum Hudson-Odoi during his Chelsea days.
