Luke Littler Pledges to Treat Girlfriend with £100k World Masters Winnings
Darts prodigy Luke Littler has vowed to use a portion of his substantial £100,000 World Masters prize money to treat his girlfriend, Faith Millar, after openly admitting he had not purchased her a birthday present. The 19-year-old secured his first World Masters title in a thrilling final at Arena MK in Milton Keynes on Sunday, defeating Luke Humphries with a narrow 6-5 victory.
A Triumphant Victory and a Personal Admission
Littler's latest triumph marks a significant milestone in his already impressive career, elevating him to joint-third place as the most successful player in the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) era, with an impressive tally of 11 titles. Only the legendary Michael van Gerwen, with 48 titles, and Phil Taylor, with 79, have achieved more in this competitive period.
The substantial £100,000 top prize from the World Masters adds to Littler's growing earnings, with the European Championships now standing as the sole remaining major televised PDC title he has yet to conquer. Speaking candidly after his win, Littler revealed that the final coincided with Millar's 20th birthday, and he had not yet managed to buy her a gift.
'It is Faith's birthday. I didn't get her anything, but at least I got the trophy,' Littler confessed. 'We can go shopping tomorrow. It's going to go. There was no pressure on me today, but there was a little bit to try and get the win for her and my family.'
Celebrating Success and Relationship Milestones
Following his victory, Littler took to social media to share celebratory photos with his family and Millar, captioning the post: 'Another one. Took everything I had and so happy I get to add the world masters trophy to the collection.' This public acknowledgment comes after months of speculation about their relationship, which Littler officially confirmed in July, having previously insisted they were merely friends.
The couple first gained attention when they were photographed together in May, with Littler sharing an image on social media. Their relationship became more public during the World Matchplay event in Blackpool, where Littler kissed Millar, a beautician, after triumphing to become the youngest player to complete darts' prestigious Triple Crown.
Navigating Public Scrutiny and Future Plans
Millar has since become a regular fixture at major darts events, accompanying Littler to tournaments such as the Australian Darts Masters last year and appearing by his side after he won his second World Championship title just last month. However, the couple has faced challenges, with Littler admitting on DartsStream Live last year that dealing with online trolling had been 'tough' initially.
'Yeah, it's been tough,' he reflected. 'Obviously, at the start of last year, I was always looking at the comments. And she's been having a look [at the] negativity. But I just said, "They're jealous. They wanna ruin us." But I just said, "Just don't look at it and just focus on what we've got."'
As Littler looks ahead, his focus remains on both his sporting achievements and personal life, with plans to spoil Millar now firmly on the agenda thanks to his latest windfall.
