An emotional Luke Littler broke down in tears after his 2026 Premier League Darts final win over Luke Humphries at London's O2 Arena on Thursday night. The 19-year-old is now a two-time Premier League Darts champion, but his path to glory was far from smooth.
Emotional Revelation
In his post-match interview, Littler revealed that he had told his partner, Faith Millar, that he wanted to quit the sport entirely during a difficult period. "It was a rollercoaster first four weeks," he said, "bottom of the table, but then the fifth night I won my first night. I had to pick myself up, some tough times."
Littler described a particularly low point: "I think I had a 79 average in Brighton or something like that and it was tough. But I am here with the trophy."
Overwhelming Emotions
As he spoke, Littler turned away from the camera and broke down in tears, unable to continue. His opponent, Luke Humphries, immediately embraced him in a show of sportsmanship. The moment captured the immense pressure and relief felt by the young champion.
Littler's victory marks a remarkable turnaround from his early-season struggles, cementing his status as one of darts' brightest talents at just 19 years old.
