Viktor Gyokeres was singled out by French publication L'Equipe as the worst player on the pitch in Arsenal's 3-0 Champions League win over Lille, receiving a rating of 2 out of 10.
Mikel Arteta's side made it two wins from two in the Champions League, scoring three goals in seven second-half minutes to breeze past Lille. The second and third goals came after Arteta made a triple substitution, bringing on Bukayo Saka, Kai Havertz and Martin Odegaard.
Up to that point, Arsenal had been poor with their execution in the final third and struggled to turn their dominance of the ball into clear-cut chances.
Gyokeres' quiet night
Gyokeres was one of the players replaced just after the hour mark. He managed just 13 touches of the ball and only one of those was in the Lille box, with no shot registered.
L'Equipe deemed the Arsenal striker the worst player on the pitch, giving him a 2 in their player ratings for the match.
Noni Madueke also failed to impress the French outlet, receiving a 4 despite providing the assist for Jurrien Timber's opener.
Ratings across the squad
There were 5s for Myles Lewis-Skelly and Mikel Merino, while no Arsenal player received more than a 7. That included goalscorer Timber and the midfield duo of Declan Rice and Bruno Guimaraes.
L'Equipe also gave Mikel Arteta a 7. The average score for the Arsenal players was just 5.5, despite the comfortable win. Lille's average was down at 3.9, with five different players for the visitors rated a 3.
The publication does not provide ratings for substitutes, meaning Saka missed out on what would likely have been a strong review. The winger scored and assisted within six minutes of coming on the bench, responding to Arteta's challenge the day before to increase his numbers in front of goal.
