Kylie Minogue Promises Electrifying AFL Grand Final Show

Pop icon Kylie Minogue has revealed her excitement about performing at the 2026 AFL grand final, promising fans an 'electrifying' show at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). The 57-year-old singer, announced as the headline act in March, says the opportunity is a career highlight.

Minogue's Excitement Builds

Speaking on the Fifi, Fev & Nick radio show on Monday, Minogue said: 'I'm wildly excited! Even speaking with you, the second you say it, I'm like, "[Gasps] September! It's May!" When I said yes, I was just like, "I'm going to do it… it's ages away" but now it's getting closer! It's going to be electrifying.'

Minogue, one of Australia's greatest pop stars, has performed at major venues worldwide but notes the AFL grand final is a new milestone. 'I've had a career of doing a lot of varied stuff but the AFL grand final, I have not done,' she said.

Team Allegiances Unclear

Minogue has never publicly disclosed which AFL team she supports. In 2014, she admitted a soft spot for multiple clubs: 'I get it from my mother, she barracks for a few different teams. My brother is a staunch Bombers supporter and my sister's little boy is Hawthorn. But I'm Geelong today.' She also performed at a Fitzroy Football Club benefit in 1986, linking her to the Lions.

Star-Studded Line-Up History

Minogue joins a prestigious list of grand final performers, including KISS, Snoop Dogg, and Robbie Williams. Snoop Dogg headlined the 2025 decider with Tash Sultana and Baker Boy, while Katy Perry led the 2024 line-up alongside Tina Arena, Cody Simpson, and Christine Anu.
