Kane Reveals England's Five-Man Leadership Group Under Tuchel

England captain Harry Kane has disclosed the five players forming the leadership group under new manager Thomas Tuchel. The Bayern Munich striker named Jude Bellingham, Marc Guehi, Bukayo Saka, and Declan Rice alongside himself as the core leaders for the national team.

Kane, who has worked closely with Tuchel since moving to Bayern Munich, said the German coach has given him added responsibility. “He very much saw me as a big leader in the group, and someone who was going to help him in many ways,” Kane explained. “From my point of view, being a little bit older and wiser, more experienced … to try and push this group, to try and take it to the level I know we can reach.”

The striker noted a shift in the leadership group, with newer figures stepping up. “We have some newer leaders coming through, rather than some of the guys like Walks (Kyle Walker) and Harry Maguire, who were a big part of the leadership group in the past,” he said. “We’ve got new ones like Marc and Jude and Bukayo, Dec obviously.”

Kane also commented on Phil Foden’s potential role as a false nine for England. “I think clarity is the thing Phil probably needs,” Kane said. “The boss has made it pretty clear he sees him as one of the false nines or as a no 10. Phil can come and try and push his way into that position.”
