Harry Kane won the Ballon d'Or on Monday night and partied at an exclusive Soho nightclub with friends and family, becoming the first Englishman to claim the award in a quarter of a century.
The Bayern Munich and England striker enjoyed the best season of his career, adding another Bundesliga title and the German Cup to his collection. He scored 61 times for the Bavarians, though his campaign ended at the semi-final stage in the Champions League and with England at the World Cup.
Celebrations at Cirque Le Soir
After his historic achievement, Kane headed to Cirque Le Soir in Soho to celebrate with family and friends. He was greeted by a crowd holding champagne sparklers and raised his shot glass in appreciation.
His wife, Kate, and brother, Charlie, attended the Ballon d'Or ceremony with him and stayed by his side as the night continued. Kane had security alongside him when he eventually left the venue in the early hours of the morning.
A number of Kane's former Tottenham teammates also turned up to mark the occasion, with Eric Dier, Ben Davies and Matt Doherty spotted on the dancefloor.
Bayern's first winner since 1981
Bayern Munich had a strong presence at the event, with several players and staff travelling to London to support Kane's bid for the award. By winning, he became the German club's first Ballon d'Or recipient since Karl-Heinz Rummenigge in 1981.
During his acceptance speech, Kane thanked those who voted for him, acknowledging the competition he faced from world-class players. He also expressed gratitude to his Bayern teammates, singling out Dayot Upamecano for the weekly battles in training that pushed him to improve, and sent well wishes to coach Vincent Kompany, who was in hospital.
Kane also paid tribute to Tottenham Hotspur, the club where he spent his entire career before moving to Germany. He thanked the guidance and coaches that helped him from the age of 11, and expressed appreciation for fans of Bayern Munich, England, Spurs, and supporters around the world.
