Kai Rooney scores four in Man United U18s' 6-0 win

Kai Rooney scored four goals for Manchester United's Under-18s in a commanding 6-0 victory over Burnley, extending his impressive run of form this season. The 16-year-old son of Wayne Rooney is aiming to follow in his father's footsteps and build a career in professional football.

Four-Goal Display Against Burnley

The youngster has impressed for United's youth teams this season, and his striker's instinct was evident just 22 minutes into Tuesday's fixture at the Clarets' training centre in Lancashire. Emmanuel Ziro floated the ball towards Jaume Camacho, whose powerful header crashed against the post. The rebound fell to Kai, who struck it firmly and low into the bottom right corner with his left foot before celebrating by sliding towards the corner flag on his knees.

Kai added a second from the penalty spot four minutes into the second half, after being fouled inside Callum Feeney's box by Tambwe Leonard. In the 63rd minute, he completed his hat-trick with a looping header from a corner delivered by Jay McEvoy. A fourth goal arrived three minutes later, with the teenager again finishing low into the bottom right corner from inside the box.

Teammates Join the Scoring

Camacho added a fifth for United with eight minutes remaining, hammering the ball into the top right corner. Noah Ajayi completed the 6-0 rout in the 84th minute, according to the Manchester Evening News.

It has been a strong start to the campaign for Kai, who now has five goals and an assist from just three outings on the right flank. His form offers a boost for United supporters amid the difficulties facing the senior side.

Senior Team Struggles Continue

Michael Carrick's position remains uncertain at Old Trafford, with the 45-year-old guiding United to victory in only one of their eight opening Premier League fixtures. United have also failed to win their previous eight matches in all competitions, leaving them 16th in the table, just one point above the relegation zone.

Saturday's 12.30pm encounter against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge could prove decisive, adding to the challenges of an already demanding fixture in west London.

While the senior squad's prospects appear bleak, United fans can find encouragement in the academy's emerging talent. Camacho also demonstrated his quality at the weekend, scoring four goals in Saturday's 6-3 victory over Liverpool, taking his season tally to five goals and three assists from six appearances. Alongside Kai and Camacho, the academy crop includes Shea Lacey, Harry Amass, and Jack and Tyler Fletcher, giving United supporters plenty of reason for optimism about the future.
