Former Dallas Cowboys cornerback Jason Bell has backed Fernando Mendoza to be a success in the NFL, describing the Indiana Hoosiers quarterback as the 'perfect' number one pick in this year's draft. Mendoza, the consensus top prospect, has faced questions about his personality, but Bell believes his consistency and accuracy will win over teammates.
“All you have to be is yourself,” Bell said. “The one thing pro players look at is if you're consistent. He's got experience, he's played in college for a long time, and he's gotten better each year. The one thing that's most important for that position is, are you accurate? And he is.”
Bell also expressed excitement about Kyler Murray's move to the Minnesota Vikings, predicting a standout season for wide receiver Justin Jefferson. Murray signed a one-year, $1.3 million deal after being released by the Arizona Cardinals.
Speaking at the launch of the 2025 Topps Chrome Football trading card set in London, Bell praised the NFL's global expansion. “We would not have global growth if we didn't have the success we first had here,” he said, referring to the UK fan base. The NFL will hold games in France, Spain, and Australia for the first time in 2026.
