Newcastle United head coach Matthias Jaissle is set to address the media for the first time since Sunday's 2-0 win at Crystal Palace, as the Magpies prepare for Thursday's Carabao Cup fourth-round tie against Everton at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Goals from Will Osula and Harvey Barnes secured the victory at Selhurst Park, ending a difficult run of defeats against Coventry City and Aston Villa. Jaissle's pre-match press conference, scheduled for 2:30pm, comes ahead of the first of two meetings with the Toffees, with David Moyes' side also due to visit Tyneside for a Premier League fixture on Monday night.
Newcastle's Cup Pedigree
Newcastle have a notable recent record in the Carabao Cup, having won the competition in 2025, reached the final in 2023, the quarter-finals in 2024 and the semi-finals in 2026. Jaissle, who won cup competitions during his managerial spells at RB Salzburg and Al-Ahli, will be expected to continue that trend.
The head coach is likely to face questions on what to expect from Everton, an update on the club's injury situation, and whether he will make further changes to his starting line-up after fielding a rotated side against Crystal Palace.
Double Header With Everton
Thursday's cup meeting marks the first of two consecutive games between the sides, with the Premier League encounter following on Monday. Jaissle's team selection for the cup tie will be closely watched after the victory at Palace was achieved with a changed side.
