Itauma vs Hrgovic: Start Time, TV Channel for IBF Title Fight

Moses Itauma takes on Filip Hrgovic tonight at London's O2 Arena with the vacant IBF heavyweight world title on the line, in what is the biggest fight of the young British heavyweight's career.

The unbeaten 21-year-old is bidding to become the second-youngest heavyweight world champion in boxing history, behind only Mike Tyson. Victory would represent the biggest achievement of his professional career so far.

Itauma has won all 14 of his professional fights, with 12 victories coming by knockout, while Hrgovic brings a 20-1 record into the contest. The Croatian's only professional defeat came against Daniel Dubois in 2024, and he has since bounced back with three successive victories.

Fight start time and how to watch

The first fight is scheduled to get underway at around 4pm UK time, with the main card due to begin at 6.30pm. Itauma and Hrgovic are expected to make their ring walks at approximately 10pm UK time, although the exact time could change depending on how long the earlier fights take.

The main event will take place immediately after the final undercard bout, with the two heavyweights then set to touch gloves before the opening bell. All timings are approximate and subject to change.

Weigh-in confrontation

There was a dramatic confrontation between Itauma and Hrgovic at Friday's weigh-in, with the pair having to be separated by security. Both men successfully made weight for their IBF heavyweight title fight, with Itauma coming in at 241.7lb and Hrgovic weighing 236.2lb.

But the final face-off quickly descended into chaos. The two heavyweights exchanged words before Itauma shoved Hrgovic off the stage as the Croatian was posing for the cameras. Hrgovic immediately returned to the stage and slapped Itauma in the face, prompting security and officials to intervene and separate the pair.

The incident was the latest flashpoint in an increasingly heated build-up, with Hrgovic repeatedly attempting to get under Itauma's skin by questioning the Brit's age and experience. Hrgovic has labelled Itauma a "kid" during fight week and insisted that his greater experience will prove decisive. Itauma, meanwhile, had largely remained calm during the build-up before Friday's confrontation.

The Brit later admitted that he had "lost it a little bit", while Hrgovic maintained that Itauma had started the physical exchange. The incident has added another layer of intrigue to a fight which was already being billed as the biggest test of Itauma's career.

Itauma said: "I've always wanted to start off like Mike Tyson but don't end up how Mike Tyson ended up. But now I'm in the shoes that Mike Tyson was, as in all the fame and accolades at such a young age, I'm starting to see and realise why he fell off the way he did.

"I just don't want to make the same mistakes he made. I'm wrapping my head around these things and I guess that's why I'm so heavily into books because I ain't never been in this position before.

"There is such thing as too early, but I'm taking necessary precautions to handle it the way I believe I should."

Hrgovic said: "I am just telling you facts. I am not playing any games. I just tell you what I think in the moment.

"Like I said, I am not so smart to play these mind games. I think he is a kid, he is not mature enough and I think I am the man.

"I am a much better age, much more experience and yeah, that is it. No mind games.

"God willing you know I will beat him, I'll smash the kid on Saturday and send him back to high school."
