Ibiza Final Boss hopes to rematch rival Jordan McCann under the Misfits Boxing banner before the end of the year. The Final Boss - real name Jack Kay - took on the Manchester rapper back in June. In a rather wild and bizarre contest, which saw both fighters gas out early, it was Kay who would go on to get his hand raised on points.
Both fighters set for Newcastle card
Both men are set to compete on the Misfits card in Newcastle on Saturday night. The Final Boss will take on influencer Kellen Jenkins, while McCann will trade leather with Big Stacks in the main event. Providing both men come away relatively unscathed, Kay is itching for a sequel with his former rival.
And it could come before the end of the year, with Kay targeting the rumoured December 5th showcase in Manchester. "Hopefully me and Jordan (McCann) can run it back. I heard the next Misfits card is in Manchester in December (5th). So, hopefully me and Jordan can run it back. Round two," he said at the pre-fight press conference on Thursday evening. McCann was eager to accept Kay's demands, stating: "1 million per cent."
Replacement opponent after Gareth withdrawal
Kay is set to be involved in his second fight with Misfits this weekend, but his return was nearly in jeopardy after original opponent BBCC Gareth was forced to pull out of their contest following a brain scan. But Misfits quickly found a replacement, and on Thursday evening it was announced that the 26-year-old would trade leather with Jenkins.
Speaking about the newly scheduled fight, Kay said: "There is no pressure on me at all. I got the first fight out of the way. In that first one, I had a lot of pressure, nerves. But the second one... especially being in my home town as well, nothing is going to stop me and respect for Kellen for taking the fight so early. But he is not going to last a few rounds. He is going to be rendered unconscious and I am going to take the win."
Kay offers support to Gareth
Following news of Gareth's withdrawal, Kay - who shot up to fame last summer with his antics in Ibiza - showed his class by offering his support to his ex-rival. "Obviously you all would have heard the news with Gareth. Sadly, he will not be fighting on Saturday, but I will be still. Misfits have found a replacement for us," he said.
"So, the fight is still going ahead as planned. I just want to say to Gareth - big love. Do not let it get you down. Keep on training, keep doing your thing, and I have got nothing but respect for you."
