Ian Wright Provides Positive Health Update on Laura Woods After Live TV Collapse

Ian Wright has confirmed that Laura Woods is 'fine' after she appeared to collapse during ITV's coverage of England's friendly match against Ghana on Tuesday night. The presenter fell forward while hosting the broadcast from Southampton, but was quickly caught by Wright and fellow pundit Anita Asante.

Woods later took to Instagram to update fans, writing: 'Gosh that was a bit weird. Sorry to worry everyone, I’m Ok, the wonderful paramedics at Saints have said it’s probably a virus, just need a bit of rest and rehydration.' She also expressed embarrassment but thanked her colleagues and Wright and Asante for catching her.

Speaking on the Stick to Football podcast, Wright offered further reassurance. 'She’s fine, I got a message this morning. It was worrying last night, but she’s fine,' he said. Jill Scott added that Woods believed a virus was the cause, while Roy Keane made light of the situation, joking about Wright catching her.

This is not the first health scare for Woods; last year she had to pull out of hosting the Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk fight after a freak accident left her with cuts to her face and arms. She explained on social media that she had hit a glass lampshade while on holiday.
