Hurzeler could consider Man Utd move on one condition

Fabian Hurzeler could reportedly be willing to leave Brighton for Manchester United at the end of the season, despite being linked with an immediate move to replace Michael Carrick. The 33-year-old Seagulls manager is said to feature prominently on United's list of potential replacements, with Carrick facing increasing pressure after a poor run of results.

Carrick is expected to remain in charge for this weekend's game against Bournemouth, but another heavy defeat could spell the end of his time at Old Trafford. Hurzeler, who is under contract at Brighton until 2029, has already been reported as not interested in leaving the Amex Stadium immediately.

Summer Move Possible

According to Sky Sport Germany, Hurzeler could be open to taking the "next step" in his career at the end of the season. His "clear priority" is reportedly to finish the campaign with Brighton and secure Champions League qualification for the first time in the club's history.

The report adds that Hurzeler could be willing to leave next summer, with "top-level enquiries" already being made. If United want him in charge, they would either have to keep Carrick until the end of the season or appoint an interim manager until Hurzeler becomes available.

Other Candidates Considered

Other candidates are believed to be under consideration, with United's director of football Jason Wilcox reportedly favouring a move for Eddie Howe. The ex-Newcastle head coach is still available following his resignation before the start of the season, meaning United would be able to appoint him without paying compensation.

However, the club's head of recruitment Christopher Vivell would prefer to hand the job to former Germany boss Julian Nagelsmann. Antonio Conte's representatives are said to have reached out to United to express his interest, but the Italian isn't expected to be among the leading candidates.

Mauricio Pochettino and Kieran McKenna are believed to be outside contenders, having been involved in previous processes.
