Hollie Doyle has declared she will return to action after suffering an injury that has forced her to step away from racing. The leading jockey, who has ridden ten winners in the past fortnight, was scheduled for a full card of rides at Salisbury on Saturday evening but had to withdraw.
Injury at Bath
The 29-year-old, Britain’s most successful female rider, sustained the injury while riding at Bath on Friday. She had recorded her latest victory on the Archie Watson-trained Flight Signal earlier in the evening. However, in the following race, the Kevin Frost-trained Vault Of Heaven broke down after covering two furlongs of the sprint handicap, causing Doyle to be unseated as she pulled up the horse, which was fatally injured.
Hospital Visit and Social Media Update
Doyle was taken to hospital for treatment. On Saturday, she announced her absence from racing via Instagram, writing: “Thank you for all the messages, unfortunately I will be on the sidelines for a while after sustaining an injury at Bath yesterday. Thoughts are with connections. I'll be back!”
Career Achievements
Doyle has ridden 1,135 British winners, including ten at Group 1 level. She was on track to achieve a century of winners for the seventh consecutive year in 2025 but fell two short after accepting a short-term contract to ride in Hong Kong. In 2026, she already has 53 wins, more than halfway to the century mark, while her husband Tom Marquand has partnered 26 winners.
