Hojlund Completes £38m Napoli Move as Man Utd Cut Losses

Manchester United have confirmed the permanent transfer of Rasmus Hojlund to Napoli for £38 million, bringing an end to the Danish striker's disappointing stint at Old Trafford.

Hojlund, who joined United from Atalanta in 2023 for £72 million, struggled to make an impact, scoring just 14 goals in 62 appearances. His poor form led to ridicule from some fans, who nicknamed him 'Rasmiss', and prompted United to sign Benjamin Sesko for £66.3 million last summer.

After a season-long loan at Napoli, where he scored 16 goals in 44 games and helped the club win the Supercoppa Italiana and finish runners-up in Serie A, Hojlund has now made the move permanent. The deal was agreed between the clubs in January.

A statement on United's official website said: 'Rasmus Hojlund has joined Napoli on a permanent transfer. The Denmark international spent last season on loan at the Italian club, scoring 16 times in 44 games across all competitions, and has now permanently joined the Neapolitans.'

Hojlund, a boyhood United fan, leaves with 26 goals in 95 appearances for the club and an FA Cup winner's medal from 2024. United wished him well for the future.
