Hearts have been dealt a major injury blow as defender Harry Milne could be ruled out for the rest of the season. The influential left-back suffered what is feared to be an ACL injury during training last night.
The full extent of the problem will not be known until Milne returns home, the swelling subsides, and his knee can be scanned. This adds to the mounting injury concerns for manager Wouter Vrancken.
Injury in Final Training Session
Milne picked up the issue during training at Papara Park Stadium last night, ahead of this evening's Conference League group clash with Trabzonspor. The injury leaves Stephen Kingsley as Hearts' only fit senior left-back.
Kingsley will sit out tonight's match against Trabzonspor to manage his workload and ensure he is available for Sunday's Premiership fixture with Motherwell. Winger Rogers Mato is set to fill the left-back role in Trabzon and may have to go head-to-head with Mohamed Salah.
Transfer Plans and Injury List
Hearts are unlikely to enter the free transfer market in the short term. Instead, they are expected to work with their current squad and look to make signings in the January window.
The club is already stretched thin by injuries. Craig Halkett is out until the new year with an Achilles injury. Hearts are also short on central midfield options, with Tom Renaud, Blair Spittal, Oisin McEntee, and Eduardo Agyeu all sidelined. Stuart Findlay has also been left at home after picking up an injury earlier this week in training.
