Taylor Harwood-Bellis on Roy Keane's Guidance Ahead of Wedding
Harwood-Bellis on Keane: 'He Has My Interests at Heart'

Taylor Harwood-Bellis has opened up about his relationship with future father-in-law Roy Keane, as he prepares to marry the Manchester United legend's daughter this summer. The Southampton star and Leah Keane have been together since 2019, got engaged in 2024, and welcomed a daughter, Iris, in December 2025.

Harwood-Bellis, who has one England cap, revealed how Keane has influenced his career and provided guidance since he entered into a relationship with his daughter. 'He's one of the people, barring my immediate family, who I know for a fact has only my interests in mind,' he told The Sun. 'The advice he gives me, I know he's got my full interests at heart, so he has helped me with decisions.'

The 24-year-old defender added that Keane has attended a few of his games but is not overly present. 'He's been to a few games. He's got his own life, so he's not going to sit around watching me too much. He shows me lots of support and he doesn't say well done too often, unless I've done something special.'

Harwood-Bellis joked that a well-done might come if Southampton cause a huge upset against Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley on Saturday. However, Sky Sports pundit Keane will not be at the game. Speaking on the Stick to Football Podcast, he said: 'You think I'm going to bother him for tickets? No chance.'

Harwood-Bellis, who scored on his England debut in a 5-0 win over the Republic of Ireland in November 2024, proposed to Leah on a yacht on the Amalfi Coast in June 2024. He described asking Keane for his daughter's hand in marriage, noting the former Manchester United hardman's no-nonsense reputation. 'It is what it is when you've been with him for a while, I like to think I've become part of the family,' he said.

Leah is the fourth of Keane's five children, with siblings Shannon, Caragh, Aidan, and Alanna. The family recently mourned the death of Keane's mother, Marie, who passed away peacefully at a hospice last month. Keane paid an emotional tribute, saying it felt 'like the heart has been ripped out of our chests' during a funeral mass in County Cork.
