Harry Wilson Decision on Leeds United Transfer Imminent as Betting Suspended
Harry Wilson Transfer to Leeds United Betting Suspended

Bookies have suspended betting on Harry Wilson moving to Leeds United this summer, with the Wales star set to make his decision imminently.

Wilson's Contract Situation

Wilson, who is coming to the end of his current contract with Fulham, has already been the subject of swirling speculation around his future. Aston Villa and Everton have been credited as possible admirers in recent weeks. However, there appears to be growing momentum behind a move to Elland Road, with several bookmakers tipping Leeds as front-runners for his signature.

Fulham have offered Wilson a new deal, but there is a growing feeling he could now be on the move, and one bookmaker has now suspended betting on a move to west Yorkshire. Bet365 PR man Steve Freeth wrote on social media: "MARKET SUSPENDED. Harry Wilson to Leeds United. 11/10 into 1/3 over the last hour or so and seen enough to take down."

Previous Attempts

Leeds came close to landing Wilson last summer, having seemingly finalised a deal and personal terms with the player. However, Fulham pulled the plug on the move at the eleventh hour. Wilson ended up staying at Craven Cottage, where he played a key role under Marco Silva, netting 10 goals and racking up seven assists in the Premier League. Silva has since departed to take the job at Portuguese giants Benfica, and Wilson is now widely expected to follow him out the exit.

Familiar Faces at Leeds

Should Wilson sign for Leeds, there would certainly be no shortage of familiar faces to help him settle in. Wales team-mates Daniel James and Joe Rodon are already on the books at Elland Road. Goalkeeper Karl Darlow is also there, although his future appears uncertain given he is similarly out of contract this summer, with Spurs and Manchester United among those recently credited with interest. Ethan Ampadu was, meanwhile, named club captain two years ago, and has already been singing the club's praises to Wilson within the Wales camp.

"[I'm] trying to sell it to everyone," Ampadu said. "It's a pretty easy sell. Everyone knows how special a place Leeds is. But whenever we get asked how our time is at Leeds, when we're with Wales, we speak about it so glowingly."
