Harry Kane has revealed he is open to extending his contract at Bayern Munich, dampening speculation of an imminent return to the Premier League. The England captain, who has two years remaining on his current deal, acknowledged that a move back to English football is no longer as certain as it once seemed.
Speaking ahead of England's friendly against Wales, Kane said his views on returning to the Premier League have evolved since leaving Tottenham Hotspur in 2023. 'If you had asked me when I first left, I would have said for sure I would come back,' he said. 'Now I have been there a couple of years, I would probably say that has gone down a little bit, but I wouldn't say I would never go back.'
The 32-year-old striker is focused on achieving further success with Bayern, having ended his long wait for a trophy by winning the Bundesliga last season. He revealed that winning has only increased his motivation, leading him to work even harder on his fitness and diet. 'My numbers are 11km a game, a lot of high-speed running,' he added.
Kane also addressed the prospect of winning the Ballon d'Or, saying it would require winning the Champions League with Bayern or the World Cup with England next summer. 'It would be an accumulation of doing something great individually and as a team. It would be almost the perfect season,' he said.
On the England squad, Kane supported manager Thomas Tuchel's decision to leave out Jude Bellingham and Phil Foden, noting that players must earn their place. 'The boss has made it pretty clear that those players are not out of the squad for sure,' he said. 'Some of them, Jude especially, he's not been fit.'
