Erling Haaland has revealed the inspirational message that drove Manchester City to their historic fourth consecutive Premier League title. In a video posted to the club's Instagram after their 3-1 win over West Ham, the Norwegian striker is seen in the City boot room, pointing to a message on the wall that reads: 'No team has ever won four consecutive titles in a row... yet'.
The 61-word message served as a constant reminder of the unprecedented challenge facing Pep Guardiola's side. The video shows players including Haaland and Kyle Walker urging each other on throughout the season, with one moment showing Haaland warning teammates not to celebrate after a crucial 2-0 win over Tottenham in the penultimate fixture.
Guardiola is also seen reminding his players of the magnitude of the task, asking them: 'Give me one reason why we should not do it again?' The message clearly resonated, as City went 23 games unbeaten to seal the title, finishing two points ahead of Arsenal and nine clear of Liverpool.
City's triumph was sealed with a 3-1 victory over West Ham at the Etihad, with Phil Foden scoring twice and Rodri adding a third after Mohammed Kudus had briefly reduced the deficit. The win secured City's sixth title in seven seasons under Guardiola, a feat not even Sir Alex Ferguson's Manchester United managed.
