Erling Haaland has been ruled out of Manchester City's Premier League clash at Leeds United on Saturday evening due to a minor injury sustained in training. Pep Guardiola's side could close the gap on league leaders Arsenal to two points with a victory at Elland Road.
The Norwegian striker, who leads the Premier League scoring charts with 22 goals this season, was absent from the matchday squad. Guardiola confirmed the issue is not serious, stating: 'Two days ago in training he had some problems and a little injury. Not a big issue but not ready for today.'
Omar Marmoush started in attack alongside Antoine Semenyo and Rayan Cherki as City sought to maintain pressure on Arsenal, who face Chelsea on Sunday. Haaland's availability for Wednesday's home fixture against Nottingham Forest remains uncertain.
Despite a recent dip in form—scoring only twice in his last six league appearances—Haaland remains the division's top scorer. City's title hopes rely on closing a five-point gap to Arsenal with nine games remaining.
