Gordon Ramsay reveals gruelling Sunday swim and strength routine

Gordon Ramsay has given fans a glimpse into his Sunday morning fitness regime, posting a video on Instagram showing his swimming kit and a pool. The 59-year-old chef, who has transformed from an 18-stone 'fat chef' into a dedicated amateur endurance athlete, regularly competes in marathons and Ironman events.

He captioned the post: "Sunday morning swim, followed by a 60min strength workout LFG......." A follow-up revealed his impressive stats: a 2,000m swim completed in 34 minutes and 49 seconds, at a pace of 1:46. Followers praised his commitment.

Last year at the AEH IRONMAN 70.3 Costa Navarino in Greece, Ramsay finished behind his wife Tana and daughter Tilly. Tilly came first in the family with a time of 6:00.40, beating her father by 43 minutes. Ramsay crossed at 6:44.38, while Tana finished in 6:10.07.

Ramsay has previously opened up about his diet discipline, saying he limits himself to two mouthfuls of rich dishes. He eats protein shakes, scrambled eggs, and poached chicken or fish. "The discipline of saying, 'two mouthfuls, then get out of there'," he said, noting the importance of fitness for chefs today.
