Oliver Glasner has clarified his future at Crystal Palace, stating he does not regret his emotional outburst following the club's defeat to Sunderland, but confirming he has cleared the air with chairman Steve Parish. The Austrian manager, who will leave the Eagles at the end of the season, was linked with a potential move to Manchester United after announcing he would not sign a new contract.
Speaking about his rant after the 2-1 loss, which saw Palace play without former captain Marc Guehi before his move to Manchester City, Glasner said: 'No, I don't regret it. Do I think it was the best way? No, I don't think so, but that's Oliver Glasner.' He added that he never attacked anyone personally and that a 'very long dinner' with Parish helped resolve the situation.
Glasner emphasised that his issue was not with selling Guehi in principle but with the timing, as the team was informed just 28 hours before a Premier League match. Regarding striker Jean-Philippe Mateta, Glasner said the situation is 'very clear' with no transfer request or bids received, though he declined to discuss private conversations with the player.
The 51-year-old described the past week as a 'thunderstorm' but looked ahead positively, with Ismaila Sarr returning from international duty and Daniel Munoz fit again. Dean Henderson will captain the side for the remainder of the season, including Sunday's match against Chelsea at Selhurst Park.
