Dominic Frimpong, a 20-year-old winger for the Ghanaian football club Berekum Chelsea, has been killed in a horrific armed robbery attack on his team's bus. The fatal incident occurred on the Goaso–Bibiani road as the team was returning from a Ghana Premier League fixture against Samartex.

Masked assailants, armed with guns and assault rifles, opened fire on the bus, forcing players and staff to flee into nearby bushes for safety. The attack resulted in the tragic death of Frimpong, who was described by the Ghanaian Football Association (GFA) as a promising young talent with a bright future ahead.
Ghana Football Association's Response
The GFA expressed profound sorrow at the loss and announced plans to strengthen security arrangements for clubs travelling for domestic competitions. This move comes in response to the attack, with the association noting a similar incident occurred in 2023, highlighting ongoing safety concerns in the region.
The association emphasised the need for improved measures to protect athletes and staff during travel, underscoring the devastating impact of such violence on the sporting community.
