Gabby Logan, the Match of the Day co-host, has taken on a new role as an ambassador for the Bloomsbury Football Foundation, a charity that uses football to engage young people from disadvantaged backgrounds in London.
The announcement comes months after Logan joined Mark Chapman and Kelly Cates as part of a three-person presenting team on the Premier League and Champions League highlights show, following Gary Lineker's departure at the end of last season. Logan also continues to contribute to Amazon Prime's Champions League coverage.
The 52-year-old will support the charity's aim of involving 20,000 young people in football by 2028, at least 10,000 of them girls. Logan said: 'Witnessing first-hand the rapid growth of women's football and the Lionesses' historic success over the years has further strengthened my commitment to championing equal opportunities in sport.'
Founded in 2018, Bloomsbury Football Foundation currently works with about 5,000 young people. It also runs programmes for refugees and asylum seekers, supported by former England Under-21 star Fabrice Muamba. In her role, Logan will attend fundraising events and observe the charity's sessions.
