Thomas Frank has admitted he is not enjoying his role as Tottenham head coach, describing the current period as a difficult mile in a marathon. Xavi Simons will miss the Sunderland game through suspension, while Lucas Bergvall is a doubt.
Spurs sit 12th in the Premier League ahead of Sunday’s home match against Sunderland. Frank emphasised the need to hold nerve, particularly in the January transfer window, following Brennan Johnson’s £35m sale to Crystal Palace. He stressed that any signings must serve long-term ambitions, not just provide short-term relief.
Questions remain over co-sporting director Fabio Paratici’s future, with links to Fiorentina. Frank confirmed Paratici remains Tottenham’s sporting director and is working hard, but the club’s off-field changes add to the sense of transition.
