Ferguson has tipped Arsenal to play a pivotal role, urging the Gunners to beat Liverpool and Chelsea. 'Our defeats at Arsenal and Liverpool were disappointing, but we've got the away games against our rivals out of the way,' he said. 'I'm sure we can make up ground.'
The United boss also highlighted the threat posed by Tottenham, who have surged under Harry Redknapp. 'Harry has obviously got great experience, but I think he has just used common sense,' Ferguson said. 'A happy dressing room means you get happy players and you can see that in their results.'
With a tough trip to Spurs on Saturday and a Club World Cup campaign looming, United risk falling further behind. However, Ferguson remains confident his side can mount a title charge if they stay within touching distance over the Christmas period.
