Macclesfield's reward for their stunning FA Cup upset over holders Crystal Palace is a home fourth-round tie with Premier League side Brentford. The National League North team, who triumphed 2-1 at Moss Rose on Saturday, will welcome Keith Andrews' in-form Bees in February.
Macclesfield manager John Rooney, brother of former Manchester United star Wayne, admitted he had hoped for one of the Premier League giants but was content with another top-flight opponent. 'We said we would have liked Liverpool, Chelsea or Arsenal, but another Premier League side is incredible,' Rooney said. 'I've enjoyed every minute of the media attention. I haven't seen the lads since the Palace game – I hope they didn't party too hard.'
