FA Cup first round draw: Non-league hopefuls await EFL opponents

The FA Cup first round draw takes place this evening, with five non-league clubs hoping to secure a lucrative tie against EFL opposition. The draw, which begins at approximately 6.30pm BST, will see League One and League Two clubs enter the competition, while Championship and Premier League sides join in round three.

Non-league hopefuls in the draw

The lowest-ranked of the five non-league outfits is Tadley Calleva, who compete at step nine and reached this stage by beating Aldershot Town in the previous round. Sholing, who count Chelsea defender Levi Colwill among their investors, and Berkhamstead are also in the draw, alongside AFC Rushden & Diamonds and Salisbury.

Potential opponents and how to follow

Among the potential opponents for the non-league sides are Leicester, who were Premier League champions ten years ago, and Plymouth Argyle. London clubs Leyton Orient, Wimbledon and Bromley are also in the draw. Standard Sport is providing live coverage of the draw as it happens.
