Everton's Special Atmosphere Plan for Man Utd Clash After Moyes' Demand

Everton have drawn up a special plan to enhance the atmosphere at Hill Dickinson Stadium as they prepare to welcome Manchester United for a crucial Premier League encounter on Monday night. This marks the 14th league home game at their new stadium, but this fixture will feature a unique twist aimed at galvanising the home support.

Boosting Home Form with Fan Displays

David Moyes' side host a Manchester United team that is currently unbeaten in five matches under interim manager Michael Carrick. The Red Devils' resurgence has propelled them to fourth in the Premier League table, sitting eight points and six places above Everton, who harbour their own European ambitions.

However, Everton are in desperate need of home comforts. After 13 league games at their new £750 million stadium, their record stands at a concerning four wins, four draws, and five losses. This has prompted supporters to orchestrate a different approach in an effort to help Moyes and his team secure their first home victory since early December.

Banner Display and Fan Involvement

More than 400 banners will be unfurled before kick-off, adorning the ground's south stand. Toffees fans aim to surpass the displays seen ahead of their matches against Arsenal and Leeds United, both of which ended without a win. The supporter group, the 1878s, has mobilised an army of volunteers to lay out the flags over the weekend.

Fans in the south stand will be encouraged to wave any flags they find on their seats once the club begins playing songs over the PA system approximately 15 minutes before kick-off. Katie Carter, a leading figure in the 1878s, expressed hope that this display will generate a special atmosphere for Monday's fixture, recalling Everton's 1-0 victory in the reverse match.

Creating a Cauldron of Noise

Carter told the Liverpool ECHO: "It's one of the steepest stands in Europe, it can be intimidating if we make it that way, so let's decorate it with flags and let's fill it with noise and get it going." She added, "Monday night is the perfect opportunity for that. Whether you know the person next to you or you don't, sing along with them, like get right behind them - make sure that everyone is stood-up, all singing and getting that atmosphere going in that ground."

"We've got it all there, ready, waiting for us. The stand itself is set up ready. We just need to make it feel like a cauldron of noise to help the players on the pitch."

Moyes' Call for Improved Home Form

Everton's 2-1 away win against Fulham earlier this month continued their impressive form on the road this season. However, a loss to Bournemouth in their last outing extended their wait for a home victory to five games in all competitions.

Moyes admitted before the defeat to Bournemouth: "We have got to try to turn our away form into good home form. We have done a good job, we just need to make sure we can pick up another few wins at our stadium." He added, "We are always looking to see what it may well be. We have a great new stadium, the sooner we start getting used to it the better. Everybody enjoys it, we do, but maybe the opposition quite like it as well."

Moyes is expected to reiterate this message when he addresses the media from 1:30pm on Friday, emphasising the importance of leveraging home advantage in this high-stakes clash.
