Mikel Oyarzabal scored the winner as Spain came from behind to deny England a lionhearted Wembley win in the Nations League.
Early setback and quickfire response
The Three Lions trailed after two minutes as Lamine Yamal punished Marc Guehi’s slack possession, but roared back to lead 2-1 at half-time after quickfire goals from Anthony Gordon and Harry Kane.
Second-half collapse
It all came apart after the break, though, as Kane had a chance to double the England advantage from the penalty spot but slipped and rattled the crossbar.
Alex Baena equalised moments thereafter, before Oyarzabal dinked an onrushing James Trafford to restore the world champions’ lead at 3-2.
