The ex-fiancee of Shirley Ballas' rumoured new man has spoken of the "ultimate betrayal" she would feel if the Strictly Come Dancing head judge had started a relationship with him. Dasha Chesnokova, a 38-year-old dancer, introduced Giuseppe Nonnis, 36, to Shirley, 66, some time ago, and recent pictures could imply they are together.
Dancer's Warning
Dasha has now hit out, claiming she doesn't want Shirley to "take my man". She said: "She's a mature woman and I'm a young girl compared to her. She's known me from a long time ago and has been like a dance mum to me. It would be like your mum taking your boyfriend. She saw us and knew how much we loved each other so to be with him romantically is the ultimate betrayal."
Dasha claimed that she and Shirley had exchanged pleasantries over Instagram but have "never spoken about Giuseppe," and she hasn't heard from the TV star since the pictures first emerged. Despite everything, Dasha is convinced that there is nothing romantic between Shirley and Giuseppe, even though she says they message each other "daily," but she has to trust what she has been told by her ex-fiance.
Trust in Denial
She told The Sun: "He has told me there is nothing going on between him and Shirley and I trust him. I have to believe that. Shirley always fancied him and would make jokes about his bum. She told me when I first introduced her to him 'Oh God, you found such a handsome, talented boy'.
"But I would be surprised if anything was happening because I know Giuseppe has never said he likes older women and he's actually very picky."
Recent Sightings
The pair were snapped as they strolled through a local park, pausing to share a moment together on a bench while chatting and sipping their coffees. A source said: "She really needed this after her last split. She loves having a bit of arm candy, too, so she's very happy about it."
According to Sardinia-born Giuseppe's mother, Franca Nonnis, ballroom legend Shirley is currently coaching her son and is "an excellent teacher". Franca also said last week, "Giuseppe is a very lovable and sociable person. He is sweet with everyone." She also confirmed Giuseppe had split from his long-term girlfriend a year ago, leaving him "heartbroken". The Mirror has contacted Shirley Ballas' representatives for comment.
