Ederson Considers Manchester City Exit as Guardiola Insists He Is ‘Our Player’

Ederson is weighing up his future at Manchester City, with manager Pep Guardiola reluctant to sanction a departure unless the Brazilian goalkeeper expresses a desire to leave and a suitable offer materialises. The 31-year-old has been linked with a move away, with Galatasaray among the potential suitors, though City have not received any formal approaches or bids.

If Ederson decides to move on, City may target Paris Saint-Germain’s Gianluigi Donnarumma. The 26-year-old Italy international is reportedly available after PSG coach Luis Enrique signed Lucas Chevalier from Lille to replace him. Guardiola confirmed Ederson is in the squad for Saturday’s Premier League opener at Wolves, stating, “Ederson didn’t come to me and said he wanted to leave or he has an offer. All the players here are our players and I want them.”

City recently signed James Trafford from Burnley for £27 million, adding to a goalkeeping department that also includes Stefan Ortega. Guardiola emphasised that any player wishing to leave must approach him directly, saying, “If they want to leave, they will knock on my door.”

Meanwhile, Tottenham are monitoring City’s Brazilian winger Savinho, who is not in the squad for the Wolves match due to injury. Guardiola expressed his desire to keep the 21-year-old, stating, “I am only concerned right now that Savinho will be with us for the rest of the season and hopefully many years.”

Midfielder Rodri will travel to Wolves after a setback in City’s Club World Cup defeat by Al-Hilal, but Guardiola confirmed his knee is fine and he may feature in the match. “We want a comeback, not steps back,” Guardiola said, adding that Rodri needs minutes in training and games to regain rhythm.
