Everton came from behind to beat Coventry City 3-1 at Hill Dickinson Stadium on Friday night, making it three wins in eight days. The Blues fell behind when Yann Gboho beat three defenders before finishing past Jordan Pickford.
Within four minutes of falling behind, David Moyes' side drew level through Thierno Barry. The forward scored again five minutes later to turn the game on its head, before Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall sealed all three points nine minutes from time.
Barry wins over supporters
Thierno Barry has not always had the best relationship with Blues supporters. Last season, there were times when it looked like his Everton career might end during the summer. But what a turnaround. Already on double figures for the season, Barry is also winning the hearts of Blues supporters.
He had already been serenaded before and after his side's victory over the Sky Blues. But as he made his way to his car, he was a man in demand. Some fans simply sang "Oh Thierno Barry," while others tried to get an autograph or selfie with the forward.
Moyes fumes at first-half decisions
The Everton boss was all smiles after his side's third win in eight days, but he was far from happy during the first-half. Thierno Barry might have scored twice, but even he was clearly frustrating his manager during the opening 45 minutes with some of the decisions he was making.
However, Moyes really lost his temper when Tyler Dibling was judged to have fouled Jay Dasilva just a few yards away from the Everton box. After seeing a replay, an angry Moyes went straight over to fourth official Samuel Barrott to make his feelings known.
Dewsbury-Hall's response to boos
Everton supporters love Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and it is easy to understand why. The midfielder has been superb the last three games and deservedly got his name on the scoresheet against the Sky Blues. But as a former Leicester City player, the Coventry fans in attendance made their feelings known to the midfielder as he was booed throughout.
However, those boos somewhat disappeared after Dewsbury-Hall made it 3-1 to his side with a fine finish nine minutes from time. And Dewsbury-Hall couldn't resist taking to social media in the early hours of Saturday morning, writing: "I just love playing against them lot."
A landmark night for Moyes
David Moyes has now equalled Harry Catterick's record for managing the most games for Everton. Would you believe, they both celebrated it in the same way by beating Coventry at home.
"Seeing my name alongside Harry Catterick's is hugely humbling and I hope I can continue to add to that figure," Moyes wrote in his programme notes. "What I really hope, though, is that I can bring trophies to the club like Harry Catterick did."
