Luke Littler Gets Blunt Advice From Darts Legend Bobby George on Fame
Darts icon Bobby George's blunt girlfriend advice to Luke Littler

Teenage darts superstar Luke Littler has been given some characteristically blunt advice from an icon of the sport on how to navigate his sudden fame and fortune.

The King of Bling's Stark Warning

Following his dominant 7-1 victory over Gian van Veen to secure a second consecutive World Darts Championship title, 19-year-old Luke Littler's career earnings have rocketed to an astonishing £3.3 million. The win at Alexandra Palace in early January 2026 added a cool £1 million to his bank balance, thanks to the PDC's increased prize fund.

Despite the life-changing wealth and a trophy-laden 2025 that included wins at the World Matchplay and Grand Slam, Littler has largely kept a level head. His most notable purchase so far has been a new BMW after passing his driving test.

However, 80-year-old darts favourite Bobby George, renowned for his 'King of Bling' persona, has urged the Warrington prodigy to stay vigilant. In a frank interview with the Daily Mail, George laid out a simple mantra for the young champion.

"Don't grow up. You'll never be skint if you don't grow up," George stated. "No girls, no flash cars, no hangers-on. Just do your f***ing thing and have your bubble gum."

Navigating the Perils of Sudden Stardom

George, who won just £16,000 for finishing runner-up in the 1994 BDO World Championship, highlighted the precarious nature of sporting success. He warned Littler that while he may feel in control, fortunes can change rapidly.

"He doesn't think he's too young. When you're that age, you think you're the captain of the ship. He is at darts, but ships can sink. Look at the Titanic," George cautioned. "In darts, you can go from hero to zero overnight."

For Littler, who is in a relationship with girlfriend Faith Millar, the primary focus remains on his achievements rather than the financial rewards. He became the first player since Gary Anderson a decade ago to win back-to-back world titles.

"Ever since coming into the tournament, everyone's talked about the prize money. But for myself, just going back-to-back [was the most important thing]," Littler said after his victory.

What's Next for the Darts Prodigy?

After a brief holiday, Littler's relentless schedule continues. He is set to compete in World Series events in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia later this month. His Premier League campaign then begins on February 5 in Newcastle.

He will be joined in the Premier League by other top stars including world finalist Gian van Veen, Luke Humphries, Michael van Gerwen, and wildcards Jonny Clayton and Gerwyn Price.

As Littler's star continues to rise, the sage advice from veterans like Bobby George serves as a reminder of the unique challenges faced by a teenager at the pinnacle of world sport.
