A Czech football coach has been issued a lifetime ban by Uefa for secretly filming female players, with the governing body calling for the sanction to be extended worldwide.
Background of the case
Petr Vlachovsky, who previously coached Czech side FC Slovacko, had initially received a four-year domestic ban while a Uefa investigation was ongoing. The Uefa Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body (CEDB) has now concluded its investigation and imposed a lifetime ban.
Breach of regulations
It was determined that Vlachovsky had breached three different sections of Article 11 in the Uefa disciplinary regulations. The specific nature of the breaches relates to his covert filming of female players under his supervision.
Uefa has revealed that it has called on football's global governing body, Fifa, to extend Vlachovsky's ban worldwide, ensuring that he cannot coach anywhere in the world.
The decision underscores Uefa's commitment to protecting players and upholding ethical standards in football. The lifetime ban is one of the harshest penalties available to the governing body.
