Crystal Palace have no intention of selling Adam Wharton this summer, despite strong interest from Manchester United and other top clubs. The 21-year-old midfielder, who joined from Blackburn Rovers for £18m in February 2024, is under contract until 2029.
Former Manchester United goalkeeper Ben Foster has urged the club to sign Wharton, praising his movement, vision, and composure. Speaking on his podcast, Foster said: 'He glides around the pitch... he's got legs, vision, and calmness on the ball.'
Wharton made his England debut last year and is also reportedly a target for Liverpool and Real Madrid. However, Palace chairman Steve Parish has made it clear the club is under no pressure to sell. 'He's got a long contract. There's no pressure on us to do it,' Parish told talkSPORT.
Parish acknowledged that Wharton may eventually want to play Champions League football, but stressed the player is currently focused on his recovery from a groin issue and establishing himself at Selhurst Park. 'I think he's very committed to the club,' Parish added.
Manchester United are seeking a long-term successor to Casemiro, whose contract expires next June. Wharton is seen as a promising option, but Palace's firm stance suggests any deal would require a significant fee.
