Flavio Cobolli's Accommodation Woes Before Wimbledon Quarter-Final vs Arthur Fery
Cobolli's Accommodation Woes Before Wimbledon QF vs Fery

Arthur Fery's Wimbledon quarter-final opponent Flavio Cobolli is frantically searching for accommodation after a booking blunder, repeating a similar scramble from last year. The Italian, who reached the French Open final, faces the last remaining British hope in the men's singles on Wednesday.

Cobolli's Accommodation Crisis

Cobolli secured his quarter-final spot with a victory over Alex De Minaur on Court One, but his immediate concern is finding a place to stay. He revealed that his father must ensure they have accommodation for the second week, a problem that also plagued him 12 months ago. After beating Marin Cilic on day eight last year, he was forced to scramble for a new place.

When asked if his father needs to be more prepared, Cobolli said: “Last year I had problems. This year I have problems. I hope that my dad find the right solution for the next one. My grandfather help us to find a solution for tonight, but we found solution for all the week, I hope. An Italian family give us all the house here in Wimbledon, so it’s really cool. I will say thanks to them when I see them.”

Fery's Dream Run

Arthur Fery, ranked 114th in the world, has been one of Wimbledon's great stories. He defeated Grigor Dimitrov in an epic five-set encounter to reach the quarter-finals, becoming just the sixth British man in the open era to achieve this feat at Wimbledon. He finds himself on the opposite side of the draw to Jannik Sinner and Novak Djokovic.

After beating Dimitrov, Fery said: “It’s been the story of the tournament for me, I was really close to losing my last round as well, again today a break down in the fourth, tried to keep fighting, keeping a good attitude, committing to what I’m trying to do, with my back against the wall, it paid off today. I couldn’t have imagined it, a week ago I would have been happy to win a few matches here. Now winning four matches, being in the quarters, it’s a dream.”

What's at Stake

Cobolli, who downed Felix Auger-Aliassime in the last eight at Roland Garros before losing to Alexander Zverev in five sets in the final, will become the villain when he takes on Fery in front of his home fans. The match promises to be a thrilling encounter as Fery aims to continue his fairy-tale run.
