Xabi Alonso has selected a youthful starting lineup for Chelsea's pre-season friendly against Western Sydney Wanderers at Accor Stadium in Sydney on Tuesday.
Match Details
The Blues have already won two behind-closed-doors friendlies against Crawley and Bromley this summer. This match is the first of their tour in Australia under fan and media scrutiny. Alonso is expected to use a 4-2-3-1 system, as in the previous games at Cobham.
Debuts and Absences
Summer signings Marco Palestra and Dastan Satpayev are in line for debuts. Satpayev, who does not officially join Chelsea until his 18th birthday on August 12, starts in attack. Emmanuel Emegha and Geovany Quenda were left in London due to injuries.
British-record signing Morgan Rogers has not yet joined the squad. Most World Cup players, including Reece James, Trevoh Chalobah, and Pedro Neto, are also absent.
Starting XI
The confirmed Chelsea lineup: Teddy Sharman-Lowe (goalkeeper); Josh Acheampong, Tosin Adarabioyo Olutayo Subuloye, Landon Emenalo (defence); Reggie Walsh, Reggie Watson, Dario Essugo (midfield); Liam Delap, Dastan Satpayev, Ryan Kavuma-McQueen (attack).
