Chelsea to debut retro-inspired white third kit at Everton

Chelsea will wear their new third kit for the first time in the Premier League when they visit Everton on Saturday. The all-white Nike strip is inspired by the club's vintage away kit from the 1992-94 era, which was worn by players such as Glenn Hoddle, Dennis Wise and Tony Cascarino.

Design details and retro touches

The new shirt features blue trim on the sleeves and neckline, with red pinstripes completing the look. The quirky lace-up collar from the original design has been omitted. The kit also includes a reimagined throwback crest, featuring the lion sitting atop the block letters 'CFC', a version used between 1986 and 2005.

While the original kit was paired with red shorts, the new version is all-white, with the women's teams wearing blue shorts. The old Amiga Commodore sponsor has been replaced by the American stablecoin 'USDC by Circle'.

First senior outing

So far, the third kit has only been worn by Chelsea's Under-21s, who used it in the EFL Trophy against Wycombe Wanderers last month, losing 2-1 at Adams Park. Saturday's match will mark the senior team's debut in the kit.

Chelsea come into the game after a 5-1 win over Bournemouth. A statement released when the kit was unveiled said it would "celebrate more than 30 years since both Nike and the Blues emerged as global football powerhouses."
