Chelsea have identified Monaco midfielder Lamine Camara as a possible replacement for Manchester City target Enzo Fernandez, with the Blues also maintaining their interest in Bournemouth's Alex Scott ahead of Tuesday's transfer deadline.
Standard Sport understands Chelsea are considering making an opening offer for Camara, who is open to a Premier League move this summer. The Senegal international has also been linked with Liverpool and was the subject of a rejected bid, worth around £43 million, from Crystal Palace earlier in the summer.
Fernandez departure looming
Premier League clubs have until 11pm BST on Tuesday to complete their summer business, and Fernandez is likely to leave Stamford Bridge before the deadline, with Manchester City manager Enzo Maresca pushing for a reunion.
Chelsea imposed a deadline for Fernandez bids two weeks ago, which passed without an offer from City. The Argentine has been left out of Chelsea's opening two games of the season, and Blues manager Xabi Alonso suggested on Thursday that Fernandez had lost "his desire" to play for the club.
Scott pursuit faces tough challenge
Bournemouth star Scott has been a target for Chelsea all summer, having seen a bid worth £64 million rejected earlier in the window. However, prising him from the Cherries in the final days of the window would appear to be a very tough deal to pull off.
Asked earlier this week if Scott would remain a Bournemouth player this summer, manager Marco Rose was emphatic in his response. He told reporters: "I'm sure [he'll stay]. I'm not just quite sure, I'm sure. Forget 100 per cent, is there a 120%? That's how sure I am."
